Azya sp.
(Coleoptera:Coccinelidae)
This is a lady beetle. There are approximately 5000 described species of lady beetles in the world. The most well known Lady beetles are typically red with black dots, but as you can see in this image, these beetles can be found in many different colors and patterns.
Nicrophorus sp.
Coleoptera: Silpidae
This is a fairly large beetle (about 25mm). They are associated with dead small vertebrate animals in the woods. Several of these beetles can move a carcass of a small mouse or bird and bury it. No wonder that when I picked up this guy with my hands they stunk bad!
